Realization of real-virtual fusion communications

With a lineup of extended unit options, the advanced design of the virtual communications POD invokes an image of the distant future. The extended unit options, including the interactive 3D display, provide various functions that are intuitively operable. The virtual communications POD is a high-performance virtual communication tool that integrates Freparnetworks’ imagery database and voice recognition technologies with novel ideas about content.

Expanding an interface station enables linking to terrestrial digital broadcasting as well as connecting to the Internet. Among the endless resources of information on the Internet, a character provides only new and useful information (feed) for each user in a timely manner.

With this model, a user can enjoy the original content provided only by the virtual communications POD, such as going on an enjoyable diet using the material transfer field (MTF350), and engaging in conversation through SAMURAIPHONE, with a character. The information on the character is transferred from the character information memory element (CODEC CELL), and the animated character is shown exclusively on the 3D display.

Extended Unit Options for Virtual Communications POD

Various options fulfill the user’s virtual communications POD life. Equipped with home server functions, the extended unit options are intended as next-generation communication tools adapting to the ubiquitous environment as core units among digital electric appliances.

Character Information Memory Element
“CODEC CELL”

CODEC CELL is an information transfer terminal to be inserted in the virtual communications POD for character replacement.

3D Display Unit
“Virtual Communications POD”

Revive space to which information is transferred from the character POD, and only where the character can live. The unique space appears as if the character actually lives there.

Interface Station

This unit accommodates a wide range of interfaces, such as network interfaces and terrestrial digital broadcasting interfaces, as well as leading-edge digital electric appliances.

Sub-Display

This display is used to obtain the latest online information (feed) for real-time display. Vital information about the character and product advertisement is also displayed.

Satellite Dish

The wireless LAN base station is equipped with the internal WiFi antenna. “SMAURAIPHONE”—the exclusive IP hybrid mobile phone—can be used within the area free of charge.

CMOS Camera Unit

This unit is used for user authentication combined with voice recognition, and for product recognition. The CMOS camera unit can be combined with a satellite dish.

Material Transfer Fields
“MTF200 and MTF350”

These units transfer materials to the character, such as food, costumes, and even medicine. The MTF350 is also linked to the weight-measuring and diet programs.

IP Hybrid Mobile Phone
“SAMURAIPHONE”

Exclusive IP Hybrid Mobile Phone. With this IP hybrid mobile phone, the user can make phone calls within the area free of charge, and enjoy communications with the character.
